 Chitwan National Park, Nepal

Living in a little bamboo hut for the past two weeks in Pai, I have encountered many forms of wildlife. Not only do we have to deal with the onslaught of domesticated animals such as dogs and cats that hang around night and day, but there are also dozens of species of insects and lizards and birds and frogs and snakes (including one highly dangerous/poisonous snake that someone caught and then cut its head off with a machete…but that story another day).

One of the things that always strikes a chord with me when I travel is the wildlife I get to see. I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen so many great creatures in the wild, and I always try to acknowledge how lucky I truly am. Not a big fan of zoos, I love visiting national parks whenever I can; my dream holiday has always been to do a safari in Tanzania, which is what I would like to start saving for in a few years. Perhaps I should pay off all the debts from the travels I’m currently undertaking first…
