Sundays are usually my blue days – no matter if I work or it’s a day off, I tend to feel a little bit down about one thing or another. Growing up I believe this affliction was directly connected to having to go back to school on Monday morning; the feeling never really left me, regardless of what Monday morning now holds.
Today, however, was a beautiful and stress-free day, with no over-analysization of my future, no fretting about the minor dilemmas we all have, no fear of wasting the day with my inconsequential worries. It was actually quite a productive day: I cleaned the house, watched a movie, went for a walk, went shopping for both cheap clothing and cheap wine, played with my new foster cat, finished a novel, read a travel magazine with a latte at my favourite cafe, researched my upcoming trip to Belize, and went for beer and nachos with a new friend. It was the perfect day off, the perfect Sunday. It was anything but blue.
