Underwater Paradise

Gili Trawangan, Indonesia

There are days when all I can think about is scuba diving. It pains me to think I won’t be able to dive for the next few wintry months.

I love the sounds of scuba diving: silence and bubbles.

Been following you for awhile, your blog is amazing! Hoping to make it to the Gilis in the next couple of years…they seem lovely. 🙂

I’ve been reading your blog for a few months (your voice, your photographs, your spirit–brilliant) but I’m dying to know: where did you go on your first big trip out of Canada?

Colleen – I love that sound, too. It’s so relaxing…

Chimerachameleon – I really hope you get to the Gilis! They are a bit touristy but I had a great time, and the diving is terrific.

Anonymous – Thanks for reading and for your nice comment! As for your question: I grew up travelling with my family all over North America, but I first went to Europe at age 12 and went a few more times before my first big trip on my own, which was a long backpacking stint through most of Europe and northern Africa. After that, I just kept travelling!
