It’s no secret that I am pretty obsessed with London. I absolutely love living here, and I am constantly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things to do and see. Despite living in London for two years, I feel as though I’ve barely scratched the surface, and that I’m only just beginning to discover what the city really has to offer.
On top of that, London is a photographer’s dream.
I’ve had Instagram for a few years now, but only recently really got into it – I now love to share photos of London as much as possible, and I’ve also started following a lot of excellent London-based accounts. The whole experience has made me start taking photos of London a lot more, which in turn has made me see the city through different eyes. I’m not a huge fan of selfies or shots of clothing/products, so you won’t find many fashion bloggers on the list of accounts I follow; I prefer travel, food, and lifestyle accounts. Of course, there are so many amazing photographers and Instagrammers in London, so this is just a small sampling and just a subjective list, so I am hoping to do a part two sometime soon.
Anyway, here are some of my favourite Instagram accounts of London.
Alex has such a beautiful feed of photos – I love every single one. A Swiss photographer based in London, follow her for amazing shots of both the city and of her adventures abroad.
Jonny works in book publishing and takes lots of great shots around the city; my favourites are his portraits.

Matilde is originally from Portugal and now lives in London – her photos of the city are all washed with a gorgeous blue light. She’s a new favourite Instagrammer of mine.
This is one of those niche accounts that does SUCH a great job. The photographer posts photos of the breakfasts he and his boyfriend eat – most are shot in London, and every single one makes me want to eat a huge brunch every single day.
One of those London evenings when you leave work at a decent hour, walk out of the office and decide not to get on the Tube, but to walk… It's not chilly enough to be cold but you are wrapped in your autumn coat and a scarf. You call your Dad and chat about upcoming trips to Ireland while the bells of St Paul's chime 7pm in the background. My kinda no-plans Friday evening.
Jess has one of my favourite Instagram accounts of London – she shoots both the details of every day life in the city and the famous landmarks, like St. Paul’s Cathedral. She has one of those accounts that makes me feel so lucky to live in London.
I personally believe this is one of the best accounts on Instagram – it helps that Emmanuel posts about my beloved East London. This is the account to follow for amazing portraits of the city.
Another awesome account to follow for portraits of London. Holly-Marie takes incredible photos.

Lou posts beautiful photos that all have lovely muted tones to them.
I met Jacintha through travel blogging, and I’ve since grown to adore her Instagram shots of London. I love when she posts really colourful, vivid shots of the city. Her blog is also amazing, so make sure to check it out.
Mendy is an American expat in London, and she takes beautiful shots of food and storefronts around the city.
Alan is an absolutely amazing photographer, and his shots of London will leave you wanting to explore it more (and to step up your photography game).
And just as we all praised this winter for its brisk and sunny days, the sun disappeared and fog led its way into the days. Back to sunshine on the weekend perhaps? ☀️ (On a different note: Yes, this may indeed be the sixth, seventh or perhaps even eighth photo on my feed from The Creaky Shed 🙂🙃) Happy Thursday everyone!
Lea is also a new favourite of mine, and I love her colourful shots of markets and flowers. So many flowers!
autumn in London, we meet again! can't believe it'll soon be a year since we moved here – I'm glad that some things don't change – autumn, welcome back, I've missed you so! 🍁🍂🌰✨ #livethelittlethings #simplepleasures #thisislondon P.S. thanks, Christine @_cjhwang for the absolutely gorgeous view of the rooftops in Fitzrovia! 😘🙋🏻👋🏼
Ana-Alexandra is a Romanian living in London, and she takes beautiful, bright photographs around the city. Definitely one of my favourites.
Helen takes gorgeous shots of the quiet side of London – think lots of colourful row houses and cute car spottings.
I’m a huge fan of Steffi’s photos, and she also runs the magnificent account @housesofldn.
Jessica has tons of Instagram followers, and there’s no denying why – she takes absolutely beautiful shots of the city.
Joe is a design editor and you can see his eye for it in his beautiful photos around London. Lots of intriguing lines and muted colours here, and I love it.
Robyn posts the kind of photos I love – full of colour, and lots of fun.
My friend Julie always takes great photos of London, especially the beautiful mews of West London.
Zoë makes makes me fall in love with London all over again when I see her photos.
I absolutely love this account – the photographer always shoots really clean, bright shots of London.
And then, of course, there’s me… *cough cough*. I’m still finding my way when it comes to photography, and I’ve yet to play with professional equipment (most of my photos are shot on an old iPhone when I see something I like around London) or even find my true personal style, but I’m loving the experience. I try to upload photos that represent day-to-day life in London and what it’s really like when you travel, so I’ll probably never have one of those gorgeously curated feeds where my hair always looks perfect and it never rains. I hope you’ll check out my account nonetheless.
I also suggest checking out both the #thisislondon and #prettycitylondon tags.
I want to hear from you: who else do you follow on Instagram that showcases the best of London, or what are your favourite Instagram accounts?
