The Colours Of Macau (Part One)

by Brenna Holeman

Macau, Macau
Today I visited Macau, which is only an hour ferry ride from Hong Kong. Besides being another cool little stamp in my passport, it was a city much more than its infamous casinos, much more than its “Chinese Vegas” reputation. It was Portuguese cakes, cobblestone streets, cathedrals and ruins of churches once mighty. In short, I loved it. Perhaps I also loved that it had so many pops of my favourite colour, red.
Tomorrow is my last full day in Hong Kong. It will start with dim sum, be filled with ten thousand Buddhas, and end with a light show and drinks by the water. I would be sad to leave if I didn’t know the beaches of Thailand were right around the corner…
